Amber DiPietra and Denise Leto are reading as part of this year’s Litquake–a silly name for a serious literary festival in San Francisco. The program is called “The Poetry of Disability.” And despite the regal definite article, and their failure to mention the book they wrote together–Waveform–this could be the highlight of all the organizer’s efforts this year. Here are the details:
October 10, 2012 – 1:30 PM
Koret Auditorium, San Francisco Public Library
100 Larkin

Two authors included in Beauty is a Verb: the New Poetry of Disability appear at this event curated by the SFPL Library for the Blind and Print Disabled and Deaf Services Center. The anthology includes a range of writings by people whom society considers to be disabled, but who may or may not consider themselves to have a disability. Open mic to follow; ASL interpreters will be provided. Audience members who need other accommodations should request them by October 3 to (415) 557-4557 or mgoddard@sfpl.org.
